Denver Urban Scholars

DenverUrbanScholars1 VanHee realizes how much he could have benefited from a mentor during his youth. So he decided to support at risk youth in his home state of Colorado by giving proceeds from his book sales to Denver Urban Scholars. Kirk is also a mentor for this foundation and helps guide young adults by sharing his personal story and how he overcame the obstacles in his life.

Since 1995, Denver Urban Scholars, a nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to helping metro Denver students with the greatest need to graduate high school and enter higher education with a meaningful life plan for success. The students that Denver Urban Scholars serve are those who have potential, but are at risk of dropping out or getting lost in the current system. This foundation requires a significant commitment from each student in the program, and in return, students who choose to be a part of the program are empowered and inspired to succeed through mentoring, case management, academic support and financial assistance.

Anyone can donate or become a mentor of Denver Urban Scholars. Take some time to check out their website at www.DenverUrbanScholars.com and help someone in need.
